Before applying to any scholarships:

As with anything you read online, you should be careful when reading about online scholarship competitions. There are certain things you should look for when deciding whether or not to apply to a scholarship, as some “scholarships” are actually scams. Use your gut! If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Also, if a scholarship asks you to make a payment to enter or to redeem your prize, it is probably a scam. No scholarship will ask you for any money. Similarly, if a scholarship application asks you for personal information is not relevant to the award, such as financial information, then it is probably a scam. Be aware of these scams when you decide which scholarships to apply to, as you will save yourself a big headache!

Paying for college is difficult, but searching for scholarships to help you pay for it doesn’t have to be! It can be overwhelming to sift through so many scholarship databases to find one that you are eligible for. Many scholarship competitions require long essays or a high GPA, so they are very competitive. However, there are some scholarship competitions you can enter that anyone can win! It’s likely you are eligible for the competitions I mentioned, and enter them! Good luck with your scholarship entries!
